SYMBOLIC PLAY: IT IS IMPORTANT?
  
What is that? 
Simbolic play, is a type of play in which the child acts as if he was another person in a different place, doing things that he couldn't do in everyday life. For example: being a pirate.




Why is important?
  • It allows children to put themselves in another point of view.
  • Development of empathy. 
  • Improve language.
  • Improve social skills.
  • Develops imagination and creativity.
  • Allows children to solve problems by their own.
  • Is useful to overcome fears. 
  • Improves motor skills. 

What can we do:
  • Be a model.
  • Tell them stories.
  • Play with them.
  • Give them accurate materials. 
  • Let them play freely.

In short, we think that symbolic game plays an important role on children's development and we should encourage it.

OUR TEACHING METHOD








  
As educators, we would follow some methodologies. For example:

  • Bandura: we'll be the models that children have to follow, and for that, we have to teach them with our example.
  • Maria Montessori: we'll adapt the materials and things in the class according to their age, we will let them explore and learn by themselves.
HOW TO BE A GOOD EDUCATOR



As future educators that we are, we think that there are some aspects that are esential for being a good educator.
For example:
  • Be a good model; children imitates everything they see.
  • Be patient.
  • Be active.
  • Responsability.
  • Create a warm and affective environment.
  • Have resourcers.
  • Have creativity.
  • Have a good comunication with the parents.
  • Have an open-mind.
  • Respect every child.
  • Be organized.
  • Be hard-worker.
  • Be empathetic.

There are a lot more, but we think that there are the most important ones.

STORIES TIME

Little Red Riding Hood
Little Red Riding Hood lived in a wood with her mother. 
One day Little Red Riding Hood went to visit her granny. 
She had a nice cake in her basket. 
On her way Little Red Riding Hood met a wolf. 

-“Hello!” said the wolf. “Where are you going?” 
+“I’m going to see my grandmother. She lives in a house behind those trees.” 

The wolf ran to Granny’s house and ate Granny up. He got into Granny’s bed. 
A little later, Little Red Riding Hood reached the house. She looked at the wolf. 

-“Granny, what big eyes you have!” 
+“All the better to see you with!” said the wolf. 
-“Granny, what big ears you have!” 
+“All the better to hear you with!” said the wolf. 
-“Granny, what a big nose you have!” 
+“All the better to smell you with!” said the wolf. 
-“Granny, what big teeth you have!” 
+“All the better to eat you with!” shouted the wolf. 

A woodcutter was in the wood. He heard a loud scream and ran to the house.
The woodcutter hit the wolf over the head. 
The wolf opened his mouth wide and shouted and Granny jumped out. The wolf ran away and Little Red Riding Hood never saw the wolf again. 

And stind, stand, stood, this tale is told out.



Goldilocks and the three bears:

Once upon a time there was a little girl. 
Her name was Goldilocks. 
She had golden hair. 
One day Goldilocks was walking in the forest. 
She saw a house and knocked on the door. 
She went inside. 
Nobody was there.

Goldilocks saw three bowls on the table. 
She was hungry. 
-“This porridge is too hot! 
-This porridge is too cold! 
-This porridge is just right!” 
Goldilocks ate all the porridge. 

Goldilocks was tired now. 
-“This chair is too big! 
-"This chair is too big, too! 
-This chair is just right!” 
But the chair broke. 


Goldilocks was very tired. 
She went upstairs. 
-“This bed is too hard! 
-This bed is too soft! 
-This bed is just right!” 

Soon, the bears came home. 
-“Someone’s been eating my porridge!” said Daddy bear. 
+“Someone’s been eating my porridge!” said Mummy bear. 
*“Someone’s been eating my porridge - and it’s all gone!” said Baby bear. 

-“Someone’s been sitting on my chair!” said Daddy bear. 
+“Someone’s been sitting on my chair!” said Mummy bear. 
*“Someone’s been sitting on my chair - and it’s broken!” said Baby bear. 

-“Someone’s been sleeping in my bed!” said Daddy bear.

Goldilocks woke up and saw the three bears. 
“Help!” She ran downstairs and into the forest.
She never came back again. 

And the three bears lived happily ever after.
 RECYCLED TOYS

We think that is really important for us as educators, to make awarenees in our pupils. And for that reason, we have choosed some toys that we can do in order to recycle and have fun at the same time.



MARACA WITH ACTIMEL'S BOTTLES.
Materials that we need:
  • Actimel's bottles.
  • Rice.
  • Ballons.
  • Thread.
How to do it:
  • First of all, we put some rice in the bottle.
  • We cut ballons and cover the bottle with it.
  • We put some thread around the top of the bottle so the rice doesn't fall.


ANIMALS WITH HYGIENIC PAPER ROLL
Materials that we need:
  • Hygienic paper rolls.
  • Cardboard.
  • Things to decorate with; eyes, cotton...
  • Acrilic paint.
How to do it:
  • We cut the paper rolls.
  • Then we paint them as we want.
  • And when it's dry, we customize it with whatever we want.

SNAKE WITH BOTTLE'S CAP
Materials that we need:
  • Bottle's cap.
  • The container of the kinder surprise.
  • Marker.
  • Thread.
How to do it:

  • We make a hole in the middle of every cap.
  • We pass a thread through all the caps.
  • We decorate it.
